About Me.
You may have guessed it already by now, but I am super passionate about the environment. The light being sparked by my very eco-conscious parents, I was the school kid in the charity shop threads who loved recycling!
From home life into school life and environmental science quickly became my game, I went on to study Chemistry at the University of Bath where I researched bio-plastic during my Master's. This was back in 2011 before they became cool, and then un-cool again ;). My work in the area was rewarded with a First Class Honours and a research publication which you can find here. From the analytical world of Chemistry, I moved to the analytical world of programmatic advertising, responsible for the pesky adverts that follow you around the internet! At first I hated what I had become, a drone, in a massive agency, pushing people to buy stuff from behind the comfort of my dual screen. But over time, I came to realise that I could use the skills I was developing for good, after all, sustainability needs marketing too! In 2018, I quit my job after 3 years in agency land, to pursue the freelance life, picking the clients I wanted to work for. I was picked up by my old boss and together we grew marketing consultancy firm Aperto One. After a year or so, I moved to part time which allowed me the flexibility to pick up my first Positive Impact clients; Loowatt & Kentish Town Vegbox. Having left the marketing consultancy in early 2020, I am now working full time as an independent consultant. |
